Just 2 1/2 miles to the east is the coastal resort of Skegness, bustling with entertainment, bars, amusements and of course miles of unspoiled golden beaches. Skegness can be accessed by car, or by a roadside track ideal for walking or cycling. For walkers there is are secluded cross country walks to the north and south.
Lincolnshire is renowned as flat and level - idea for those who have difficulty with mobility. However just a few miles to the west we have rediscovered Lincolnshire Wolds. Visit nestled hamlets and villages, quiet country pubs and delightful walks. I little sunshine, packed lunch - delightful!
Lincoln is in the order of 40 miles, visit the castle - the home of the Magna Carta. See the Victorian Prison and get a panoramic view of the city from the high walls. The Cathedral is close to the castle and is well worth a visit.
Not forgetting Lincoln extensive shopping centre.
Further afield, visit Boston - unique markets every Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Lovers of nature - visit Gibraltar Point - 2 1/2 miles east of Skegness. Enjoy the wildlife, country walks, salt marsh and a recently opened visitor centre.
Gibraltar Point can be accessed by car, or by several walking tracks along the coastline.
There are 2 golf courses in Skegness and a driving range at Wainfleet.
